Unlock Vicho’s Shop in A Study in Crimson

Vicho’s curio shop is on the eastern side of Altenmarkt in Svartrau. Look for the closure notice on the locked front door. Lacra can point you toward him after Hive and Seek; you can also discover the shop while exploring the city.

For the first visit, come after dark and use Shadowstep to reach the balcony above the shop entrance. The balcony door provides the way inside while the front door is locked. Use Focus to inspect the blood and crosses upstairs, then the shelves, dead rat and stone statue downstairs.

Open the inner door to meet Vicho and agree to help with his investigation. If you have Lacra’s introduction, you can mention her. The route below ends with the shop opening after the warehouse stage; the later farm investigation can reopen the quest.

Follow Vicho to Eli and Devora’s home

Stay close to Vicho as he crosses the rooftops, using Shadowstep to keep up. Some of the route passes through restricted areas, so watch your landing points and nearby patrols. At the house, accept his request to investigate: “I’ll take a look around.” Refusing to help ends this route.

Go upstairs to the second room and inspect Devora’s body. Collect Letter from Doctor Simeon, then go to the basement and examine Eli. Take the Jeweller’s Key from his hand; it opens the box beneath the stairs in the same house, where you can collect silver.

Return outside to Vicho after examining both bodies. Deal with the guards if they interrupt; your Infamy affects whether a peaceful exchange is available. Continue following Vicho to discuss the evidence and head toward Simeon’s property.

Search the doctor’s shed, then his house

Follow Vicho to the doctor’s home. Once you have checked for Simeon, use the Doctor’s Spare Key provided by Vicho to open the shed beside the house. Inspect the work area, including the mask and covered body, and take the house key from the desk among the books.

The Doctor’s House key opens the main building. Read the note on the lower-floor table, then inspect the documents upstairs in Simeon’s room. Check both the table and bedside table; the property deed on the upstairs table supplies a lead to the warehouse.

Speak to Vicho when the investigation is ready to move on, then follow him to the warehouse. Keep the shed key and house key distinct from Simeon’s Key, which you obtain later in the warehouse.

Use the rear balcony to enter Simeon’s warehouse

The warehouse’s front entrance is barred. Go around the back and use Shadowstep to reach the balcony door. Once inside, examine the desk on the upper floor before moving down to the operating area.

Continue investigating downstairs. The caged dead dog is near the stairs that lead farther down to Simeon. Be prepared for a fight when you descend. Vicho helps during the encounter; stay alert to Simeon’s quick movement and attacks in front of him.

After defeating Simeon, finish the conversation with Vicho. Before you leave the building, check the three separate sources below so the conversation reward does not distract you from the body and locked chest.

These rewards come from separate interactions. Receiving the amulet from Vicho does not collect Simeon’s belongings or empty the upstairs chest for you.

Return at night to use Vicho’s shop

Completing the warehouse investigation and its closing conversation opens Vicho’s shop. Return to his house in Altenmarkt at night to trade. Reaching his house for the first time is only the introduction; the investigation must be resolved before normal shopping is available.

Check his current stock and asking prices when you visit. The available accessories depend on your progress and stock selection, so a guide’s example purchase does not guarantee the same item will be on your menu. Shop access also depends on Vicho remaining alive.

Keep the later farm investigation separate

The shop opening is the end of this stage, not the end of every event involving Vicho. The Good Samaritan takes you to a farm south of Svartrau, where further evidence can reopen A Study in Crimson. The medic in the city offers a lead during the day.

Warning from Simeon belongs to that later investigation. It is a different document from Letter from Doctor Simeon, the note you found on Devora. Keep those clues separate when checking which part of the story your journal is asking you to finish.

If you want to question the corpse inside the farmhouse, use Compel Soul during the day before reporting the farmers’ fate to Vicho. That conversation can close after your report. The corpse inside the house is separate from the body by the wolves farther south that carries the warning.

The later confrontation has its own choices and consequences. Vicho’s Cross and any continuing blood-delivery task belong to that follow-up; they are not part of the three warehouse rewards listed above.
