ABOUT THE WIKI
Privacy and browser preferences
You can use Dawnwalker Wiki without an account. Reading preferences, saved items, checklists and plans stay in your browser. Audience analytics are on by default on public content pages; you can turn them off through Analytics settings in the footer.
What your browser remembers
Local browser storage can hold the following choices. They are not attached to an account or automatically synced to another device.
- Your reading theme and text size, plus your analytics preference.
- Items on your shortlist, quests marked completed and map places marked visited.
- Working skill and equipment drafts and the named plans you save. Skill Planner and Build Planner keep separate drafts and lists.
- Map and quest backups are downloaded to your device. Importing one reads and merges the file in your browser; the site does not upload the backup.
Change or remove saved data
Use the relevant item, quest, map or planner controls to change a saved choice. To remove all local preferences and plans for this site, clear its site data in your browser settings. This affects that browser only and does not delete backup files you previously downloaded.
If your browser prevents storage, the tools explain when they cannot save a change. Reading controls still work during the current visit. Keep any backup you need before clearing site data.
Search and shared links
Searches filter the site’s guide index or directory data in your browser. They are not submitted to a separate search provider. Opening a result requests a page in the same way as following an ordinary link.
Map links can include search terms, place filters, a selected region and the camera view. Plan links contain the ranks, unlocks and, for a build, equipment and abilities in the shared snapshot. Anyone with such a link can open that snapshot. Saved map visits, quest completion marks and other saved plans are kept separately.
A receiving planner offers a preview or an explicit apply action before replacing saved skills. An equipment link identifies the piece to preview and does not automatically equip it. Query-string information is sent with a page request; a fragment after # is handled by the browser.
Analytics and your choice
Optional audience analytics are on by default on the official site’s public content pages. A third-party analytics service receives page-view events and browser connection information to help us understand visits, traffic sources and browser or device use. Analytics cookies can distinguish visits in the same browser.
The page-view events sent by this site include the public page address and title, and a referring address when available. These addresses omit URL queries and fragments, so our page-view events do not include map filters, planner share codes or tool inputs from those parts of a link. Saved plans, visited places and quest checklists stay in your browser unless you choose to share or export them.
Open Analytics settings in the footer and choose Turn off analytics to stop subsequent collection. Your choice is saved in this browser for up to one year and synchronized across open tabs. Turning analytics off also clears accessible analytics cookies; it does not delete data already sent. You can turn analytics back on through the same setting.
Local and preview versions keep analytics off. Unpublished, error and noindex pages are excluded from page-view reporting. If your browser prevents saving preferences, your choice still applies in the current tab and the settings explain that it cannot be remembered for your next visit.
Page and asset requests
The hosting service receives the requested address, your IP address and browser request headers to deliver a page and its assets. This can include map settings or a shared plan in a query string. Operational or security request logs are separate from the browser analytics setting.
Fonts and game images are served with the site. Following a link to another website or using your email application brings that service’s own data handling into use.
Email enquiries and privacy requests
If you email the wiki, your email address, message and any attachments are processed to answer the enquiry, review a correction or handle a rights request. We retain correspondence while it is needed for that purpose or a legal obligation.
Send only the details needed for the issue, and remove unrelated personal information from screenshots. Opening an email link does not send a message automatically; you choose what to send in your email application.
Contact us to ask about, correct or request deletion of information you have sent. Include enough context to locate the correspondence, such as its subject and date. We may need to confirm that a request relates to you before disclosing or changing personal information.
Changes to this policy
The updated date at the top of this page records the latest policy revision. Changes to the site’s storage, analytics or contact practices will be reflected here.
