How to Find and Use the Relic of St. Tobias
Inspect the severed arm on Lacra’s outdoor wisp trail during The Night of Horrors, before entering the crypt. The Relic of St. Tobias can supply the saint’s relic needed for Arbiter armour.
Where to find the Relic of St. Tobias
Search the clearing with twisted vines on The Night of Horrors route. The arm is part of the vine inspection in the middle of this clearing. Check it before following the wisps to the rock wall covered in red roots, which opens the crypt.
Start The Night of Horrors with Lacra
Finish Our Rotten Roots, allow a day to pass, and speak to Lacra again. Choose ‘You had some idea to talk through?’ to begin The Night of Horrors.
The dialogue option ‘It’s time to deal with Brencis’ begins Lacra’s ending quest. Use the earlier conversation about her idea to reach the wisp trail described here.
Follow the wisp trail and finish the arm inspection
- From the roadside shrine, follow the wisps into the swamp. Examine the stone slab when you reach the first clearing.
- Stay with the wisp trail through the zombie fights and the tatzelwurm encounter, then continue into the ravine.
- In the clearing filled with twisted vines, interact with the central vine to bring up the severed-arm inspection.
- Check the cut, tooth and ring clues and finish examining the arm. Completing this interaction awards the Relic of St. Tobias.
Confirm the pickup before entering the crypt
The relic’s inventory description identifies the item as St. Tobias’s preserved hand. This is the reward from examining the arm outside.
The corpse holding The Vrakhir sword is a later stop inside the crypt. If you are looking for Tobias’s relic, the vine clearing is the relevant part of the route.

The VrakhirUse the hand for Arbiter armour
The Uriashi blacksmith accepts Tobias’s hand for the saint’s relic requirement in A Bulwark Against Darkness. It fills that one component of the Arbiter armour request; the other materials are still required.
The relic you select is consumed when you hand it over. You only need one accepted saint’s relic, so choose the item you are willing to spend.
Tobias’s hand has no equipment slot. Using it as the component lets you retain a wearable alternative, such as the Relic of St. Tyna or the Relic of St. Dasius, if you want to keep using that equipment.
Tobias’s hand, the Lost Saint’s Relic and the signet
The Lost Saint’s Relic is an equippable amulet with magic-damage and magic Health-cost bonuses. The Relic of St. Tobias is the preserved hand used as a quest component. Their similar names refer to different items.
Tobias’s description mentions a signet on the hand. That ring remains part of the relic’s description; the arm inspection gives you the hand, with no separate equippable ring reward.
